Teaching Philosophy:

The learning process begins with a common language created between student and tutor. Through assessment and evaluation of the student’s learning profile I design a program specific to their interests utilizing their strengths and addressing their weaknesses. I prefer to instruct in-person (more effective and, at times, necessary), but I am proficient tutoring online. I have gained experience virtually tutoring small groups of students during a post-covid TDSB remediation project.

Service Fees and Process:

My first assessment session costs $80.00 (includes a 15-minute phone call, 1 hour assessment session, 1 page assessment report, 15-minute post assessment feedback conversation). Tutoring sessions range from $50.00 to $90.00 depending on duration, whether it is in-person or online, how much preparation, review of work, or communication outside-of-session is required, or if in-person tutoring location is outside of the Parliament-Keele/Lakefront-Lawrence boundary. I consider sliding scale options for families in need depending on my case load. My single-session payment option allows us to move forward with the tutoring process with weekly evaluation as to its effectiveness. Block-booked sessions can be negotiated at discount, especially for those living in the Garrison Creek area of west Toronto. An up-to-date police check is available upon request.
